The first people to experience the first iPhone got to see and use the first well-functioning smartphone. What about the hundredth iPhone? Would you rather experience a later version, or be first with limited technology features, compared with the latest high-tech features available in their time?
What I am saying is that being first is not always best.

First-generation testers
The first people to test products or new technology: from the first generation to try cocaine to the first generation to experience digital signals transmitted to and from mobile devices.
Capabilities and technological features matter in today’s mobile devices, computers, wearables and even cars.
Being the first to create impressive, advanced technology is on the minds of everyone running these companies or startups. They want to be first to impress the public and customers, ready to catch the next wave of advanced technology. But what about next time, the next period?
This time it is about being first with methods or features we want to experience as cool, productive new technology. Look at the first products invented at the beginning of the touchscreen era. We were surprised and dazzled by this wonderful feature in our hands. What a nice way to use a smartphone.
It is cool, incredible and part of modern times. Make it and embrace it. See how it works and be first.
If you want to learn and become one of the few using the advanced technology of our time, look no further than the time we live in.
I use the phrase “the most advanced technology of our time”. By that I mean the development that has happened in our time, and the first technologies we have invented and used up to now.
The progress we continue to make is another example of the research and development that will take place, when and if our species takes the right steps and pays attention.
Attention, attention, and all the necessary improvements made by men and women must be at the centre of development.
At the centre of creating what I call the cooperation effect.
Being first matters, but so does being the first to show the second person the way, then the third and so on: adapting, showing consideration, passing on knowledge to build upon, understanding and embracing diversity.
A lesson from the first can provide a role model and a mother figure for the next generation of technological innovation.
Creative minds will find their way through obstacles and onto a more modern path. The people doing this are already coming together in cooperation, at the centre of an effect across communities. That is you and me.
Being first is not always best, or to put it another way, not always easiest.
Being the hundredth can be good too; it depends on the first.
