There is a difference between solving a problem in advance and solving it there and then.

If a problem cannot be solved in advance, it must be solved in the moment.

For example, shopping can be addressed in advance by knowing what you need to buy.

Can you work out in advance how to live comfortably? Yes. Find out what you are comfortable with and what you need. Lots of money? Is that within reach? What is realistic? Where can you find joy in the present? Solve the “yourself problem” in advance.

Start solving everyday “problems” in advance after addressing yourself. Then move on to more complicated problems, such as your finances or a dream or goal that has remained in your thoughts but never come to life. Why? Can it be addressed in advance? Remember that solving a problem involves thinking about how you reach the answer, not just finding it.

A problem that can or must be solved in advance

Much can be solved in advance. The question is how you think and how you organise your mind. If you know what will happen during the day, is there no problem, or is there? If you arrange your days so you roughly know what will happen, you are fairly predictable. With a reasonable overview of your life, surroundings, friends, family and work situation, you could call yourself someone who solves problems in advance. It is about having enough overview to know what steps to take next, whatever your environment.

If you enjoy unpredictability, that is up to you. Just do not forget who you are and what you want. Do you want to live with old ideas and thoughts that can lead to anxiety, stress or depression about things you cannot predict? In other words, problems you cannot solve in advance because you did not have a clear enough overview.

Get an overview of your life: friends, family, surroundings, where you live, where you spend time online and, not least, your work. If you depend on your job, hold on to it but make it better for yourself and perhaps those around you. Write down details of what you can change or improve. Start planning the days ahead based on that overview. You do not have to write down everything. Remember it, be aware and be present.

An action in a situation that must be carried out there and then

Of course, situations arise where you must think quickly and work out which direction to take. Your brain processes what is in front of you at record speed. But do you make the right choices?

Be prepared for everything, even situations that require an immediate action.

This is about mental training, which does not need to be complicated.

Understand where you are going and where you are. Do not expose yourself to surroundings in which you feel unsafe. That is fine if you are truly adventurous and get an adrenaline rush from doing things that are unnecessary, illogical or impractical.

But if you understand what you want, you are an aware person with an understanding of what it involves.

With this understanding of your surroundings, you can take an action in the moment without difficulty.

Good luck.
