Today we become curious or excited about new innovations in the technology world. How will this change in the long term? How will future people on Earth react to new gadgets and technological inventions? Will they be surprised in the same way we are today?
When people in the future reach a point where technology has come so far that most of the challenges we face today are solved, there will be different stages at which a developed technical invention can remain high-tech. In other words, how advanced will it be, from stage 1 to stage 10, for example? Depending on the stage at which technology is rated, future people will take an interest in its level. Let us say stage 1 is the lowest, meaning its importance or wow factor is lowest. That means almost zero interest among the public.
The question is: what is a normal future today?
A new gadget or phone released onto the market is a normal future for those of us living in these times. What about 50 years from now? What is a normal future then?
A new technical gadget released in the future will not be about having the latest thing, because things will be more integrated at that point. We will have a much more sophisticated mobile network than today.
The internet has spread to all developing countries today. This will be a major factor in those markets, based on how information is shared.
A new learning curve towards the capabilities of those who use technologies.
A mass influence on what people want from one another, alongside mass media creating this new idea of their new purpose. This purpose is spread among the many people who think differently, because this is who we are, and we dedicate our time to things that have meaning and purpose.
What, then, is a normal future?
It can be explained in so many ways. The absolute answer is that nothing is normal. What is normal for you is something else for someone else, and so on.
It depends on whom you ask. Ask the majority, and you will be told the same.
